Serif Coatings experienced rapid growth in the first five years of business. In 1987 the operation moved to a brand new plant and head office. The 27,000 square foot plant is situated near Pearson International Airport and a network of major highways.

Serif Coatings developed high volume accounts in such areas as steel strapping, office furniture, low V.O.C. and waterborne underhood automotive finishes. The company continues to offer fast turnaround and specially designed formulations.

Research and product development is an important element of the Serif equation for success. Research and Developement and Quality Control labs together with general offices occupies more than 20% of the total working space.

In 1996 Serif was certified ISO 9002-1994, followed by an ISO 9001-2000 upgrade in 2002.

Randall Rogers acquired a majority interest in Serif Coatings & Chemicals Inc. in 2006. The Rogers’ family has a long history in the manufacturing of Paint. In 1950, Randall’s grandfather started the family business. Protek Paint & Varnish Company is a manufacturer of architectural coatings for the residential and maintenance markets. Together with Palleschi, Rogers is building for the future on the foundation of Serif Coatings & Chemicals Inc.
